Four Details at Loewe SS27 We Had Already Put in Designers’ Hands
Yesterday we wrote about plissé, a fabric we introduced in 2024 that has now reached the Schiaparelli runway. Today's story is smaller and just as telling: details.
At Loewe's SS27 show this weekend, four of them stood out to us. Each one was already in our range.
1. The holographic collar
A sculpted collar in gold and orange holographic material turns a plain tan coat into the piece you remember. Our holographic leather has been available since 2023. Here the material does the work of a print or a hardware detail.

2. The fringed clutch
A clutch covered in dense yellow fringe with black-tipped beads. We posted our yellow and black beaded fringe in August (see here). It's a good example of how a trim can become the whole object.

3. Embellished tops
Slip tops in yellow, pale blue and coral, with beaded and fringed straps that frame the neckline. We developed our embellished patterns earlier this year, built on the same idea of clustered beads on bugle stems. The garment stays simple and the detail carries it.

4. Caviar beadwork
Yellow pumps covered in tiny seed beads, a texture that looks almost organic. We've been making caviar beadwork since 2021. Our yellow version builds beaded outlines onto sculpted leather: a different surface, but the same idea of beads packed so closely they become a material.

Why it matters
None of these four details is a silhouette. They're the parts of a collection people photograph, remember and ask about, and they're what makes a piece recognizable.
Some of these have been in our range for years, and one is only a few months old. A range with that kind of depth gives a designer something to build on, whether that's a technique to master over seasons or a new detail to try before it's everywhere.
That's the thinking behind our Designer Fabrics and embellishment ranges. We watch what's moving across fashion and craft, we look for patterns, and we make our best educated guess about what's next. Sometimes we see it on a runway.
