A technique inspired by architecture and construct

A technique inspired by architecture and construction

It’s nicknamed the bricks by our artisan because the technique required is similar to brick laying in construction

First we create the foundation with white bugle bead then we create a second layer of seed bead. Just as in construction, the foundational layer is required to be solid to be able to accommodate a second layer of work and we consider its structural integrity to determine how much weight we can sit on the foundation

An incredibly technical process but equal parts fun. We love pushing the boundaries of what’s possible in hand embroidery
