Ophir’s 2021 in pageantry: A BTS insight on the winning looks – part II

2021 is a great year in fashion after the world went on a pause in 2020 due to covid-19 pandemics, we were all very excited for activities to commence and the world as we knew it to go back to what it used to be, so there was a lot of excitement when pageantry activities began. We started with the Miss Universe 2020 competition and then there was Miss Supranational competition where our client, Karla Gilfu finished first runner up in the competition. The Miss Supranational competition is one of the major pageantry competition in the world and with over 70 countries competing, preparation began early as our client tasked us to create the winning dress panel fabric and we knew the embroidery has to stand out

As it is fundamental in our custom creation process, we spent in the couple of days understanding our client’s specification, consulting with the style team on the direction and getting approval before the embroidery commenced. Here’s an insight on the process behind the making of the panel fabric and the irresistible embroidery that got everyone awwing
